In the late 60's, 3 young visonnaires started building a purpose-built ski resort with a unique concept: a new style called "architecture mimétique" that blends in the rocky environment, totally car-free and as ecological as possible.Even today, every new building is created with these concepts in mind. The result is a winter and summer resort that has a truly unique style.
A big car-free holiday club at 1800m, where you are totally cut-off from the busy world below. Once home to the famous Festival International du Film Fantastique (1973 - 1993), and not far from Geneva and Montreux, Avoriaz is an open-minded cosmopolitan place to stay.
Hosting a lot of festivals like Snowboxx, RFM winter week, Natural games, Yoga, Avoriaz Dance, European Gay Ski Week (2015-2016), closing parties, La Folie Douce etc... you will find enough entertainment during your stay, without dominating the other activities people can enjoy here. Located in the center of the French-Swiss ski area called Les Portes Du Soleil, you can ski to your doorstep and enjoy the 650km slopes.
The northern location between lake Geneva (Lac Léman) and the Mont-Blanc chain, gives it an exceptional average snow depth from December to late April, challenging the higher located ski-areas like Espace Killy and 3 Vallées. ( 7-8m snowfall/year).

Being car-free, you must use a parking at the entrance of the resort. You can choose between covered parkings and an open air parking. There is a (un)loading dock where you can unload your luggage and take a transport by horse sledge to the apartment/hotel.
The Falaise area is close to the covered parkings, so you do not need a transfer.
There are luggage sledges available.
